Our blog posts are normally about Learning and Design. This one is shamelessly about us, and what the business is giving away until the 21st of February 2014 [edit: we extended this from end of January].

Note: If you’re here just to check out what The Learning Hook has to say about learning design, please read our other posts. But before you do, read on to ensure you get us to donate lots of $$$$ to a worthy cause!

In a nutshell, when you kick off a project with The Learning Hook (until midnight on 21 Feb ’14), we’ll donate hundreds of dollars from the sale to a reputable charity of YOUR choice. We think this is pretty cool of course, and just a good thing to do. Depending how it goes, we hope it becomes a part of our business as usual practice, but that depends on YOU. The website has the terms and conditions.

Here are a few ideas on how you might use this:

  1. Choose a charity that impacts your business, perhaps they help in your business’s community, or support your industry in some way?
  2. Couple the donation to charity with the actual training we’re producing to use it as a motivator! For example, we could make you a score based game course for compliance; the learner with the highest score gets to choose the charity!
  3. Choose a charity which someone in your organisation has been significantly involved with; perhaps they help them or have been helped by them?

No doubt there are plenty of other ways to give, but if it’s simply that we get to donate to one of the hard working charities in our community, it’s a good result.

So in the spirit of Christmas, let’s share some gifts around.
